You will often hear that "extensions damaged my hair" or "don't get extensions, you'll have no hair left"
Whilst this can be true, let me tell you why this is not the case with Bella Dolls...
When damage can occur
Incorrect fittings - play a massive part in hair damage. Not enough hair within the bead or tape can cause extensions to be too heavy and pull at your hair. Your hair should also never be "PUSHED UP" as this will damage.
Messy Sectioning - if your extensions haven't been fitted in neat section (being rushed, inconsistent sizing and cross hairs) this will pull at your scalp.
Too Tight - when extensions aren't fitted at a safe distance from the scalp they will pull and over time cause traction alopecia.
Poor Aftercare - How you take care of your extensions will affect the longevity of your extensions and the condition of your scalp. Matting occurs by not using the correct brush, not brushing enough, leaving or sleeping with your hair wet/damp and not separating your extensions.
If you do not attend refits on time you run the risk of the extensions becoming too heavy for your scalp and this will leave to excessive weight & pulling,
Snapping - Extensions CANNOT make the ends of your hair thinner, they are attached to your root.
If you aren't having regular trims on your natural hair during refit times your natural hair and extensions will become split and straggly.
Heat is a massive factor too, by not using heat protection, oils and masks your hair will become dry and brittle which leads to snapping/breakage.
Heat should always be at 165 degrees and below especially for blondes where you hair is already more processed & fragile.
Too much heat will cause colour fade, brittle ends, knotting and dry hair.
